CHAMPIONS Xtreme is a basketball camp geared towards children with disabilities who experience difficulties or delays in skills such as gross and fine motor strength, coordination, planning, and sensory processing. The mission of this camp is to provide an opportunity for athletes and families to enjoy the game of basketball, build connections in their hometown, and introduce the idea that basketball can be a means to improve the skills mentioned above.
Athletes will be given the opportunity to interact with and be coached by current DistinXion C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S players and members of the DistinXion coaching staff.
Program Benefits
120 minutes of basketball fundamentals targeting motor and sensory skills.
Informational activities including:
basketball drills and the skills they target
resources for local clinics/clubs/programs
information on occupational therapy and the benefits of basketball for children with disabilities
Opportunity to socialize with parents, other children, and current DistinXion C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S players
