At DistinXion, we want to empower others physically and relationally. In order to make this happen, it is essential that we have an incredibly passionate and dedicated staff. Thankfully, we have been blessed with an amazing team that desires to pour its talents back into others. We’d like you to meet our team.
Luke Zeller| President
Luke, the oldest Zeller boy, grew up in Washington, IN. At Washington High School, Luke graduated valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA, won the Mr. Basketball award, named to McDonald’s All-American Team, and was awarded the Trester Mental Attitude Award after hitting a half-court shot to lead the Hatchets to a state championship. Luke played college ball at the University of Notre Dame graduating with a degree in Business Mgmt./Entrepreneurship. His professional basketball career has taken him to Japan, Lithuania, California, Texas, and currently to Arizona with the Phoenix Suns. Luke married Hope in 2010.
Steve Zeller | Vice President of Character
Steve grew up on a farm in Iowa and was the youngest of 12 children. He graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Animal Science. He since then has worked in the meat industry for Oscar Mayer, Louis Rich, Simmons Poultry and Perdue Farms. He currently is working as a Plant Manager for Perdue Farms in Washington, Indiana. Family: Luke was born in Iowa, Tyler in California, Cody in Minnesota and when they moved to Indiana in 1993 Lorri, his lovely wife, told Steve to get a dog and they have been there ever since. The family has been actively involved in the community ever since.
Tyler Zeller | Vice President
Tyler is a center/forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers who plays hard, runs the floor well and gives solid effort on both ends of the hardwood. Raised in Washington, IN, Zeller is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of the 2009 Tarheels NCAA Championship team. His senior year, Tyler was voted to the All-ACC First Team and named the ACC Player of the Year, Academic All-American of the Year and Consensus 2nd Team All-America. The 2009 Indiana Mr. Basketball also was named to the All-ACC Academic Basketball team his freshman and sophomore years.
Hope Zeller | Director of Marketing and Cheerleading
Hope began her cheerleading career in 7th grade and hasn’t stopped cheering since. She was a competitive cheerleader at Mishawaka High School and then joined the Bethel College cheerleading squad. Hope graduated from Bethel with a 3.9 GPA with a degree in Liberal Studies and Early Childhood Education, with concentrations in Business, Youth Ministry, and Sociology. Her work experience includes: Director of Advertising & Promotions at her high school, Customer Logistics at Bayer Healthcare, and currently DistinXion. Hope met her husband, Luke, while in college and they were married in 2010.
Erika Hunt | Assistant Director of Cheerleading/Marketing Account Executive
Erika grew up in Portland, IN where she started taking gymnastics classes in 1st grade. She was a member of the gymnastics, track, and cheerleading teams at Jay County High School collecting 11 varsity letters. Erika graduated from Butler University in 2012 where she was a member of the cheerleading squad for 4 years and a captain her senior year. Erika was able to cheer on the court in back-to-back NCAA National Championship games for the Butler men’s basketball team. She has a Marketing degree with high honors from Butler and is pursuing a Masters in Sport Management from Indiana University.
Cody Zeller | Camp Counselor
Cody is the youngest Zeller son. In 2011, as a Washington Hatchet, he was Indiana’s Mr. Basketball and a McDonald’s All-American. As a sophomore at Indiana University, Cody was named the College Basketball Preseason Player of the Year and a first-team All-American by The Sporting News. In his freshman year, Zeller was the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Year, Second Team All-Big Ten and All-Freshman Team selection, and a finalist for the Wayman Tisdale National Freshman of the Year award, and the John Wooden and Oscar Robertson National Player of the Year awards.
Lorri Zeller | Director of Administration
Lorri grew up on a farm in the small town of Springville, IA, where she met her husband and “high school sweetheart,” Steve. Lorri attended Coe College, where she graduated cum laude with a major in Business Administration and Physical Education. She also played on the Women’s Basketball and Softball Teams and has recently been nominated for their Hall of Fame. Ever since Steve and Lorri got married, she has been a dedicated sports mom through raising their 3 boys, Luke, Tyler, and Cody. Lorri is selfless in her service with DXN and is the glue that holds us all together!
Bryce Bow | Director of Basketball/Head Trainer
Originally from Delta High School in Muncie, IN, Bryce played basketball at Goshen College where he was a 2 year All-American Scholar Athlete, 2 year Team Captain, & Assistant Coach for one season. After his time at Goshen, Bryce moved to Florida where he became the Athletic Director at Florida Christian College. He also joined the Florida Flight, a semi-pro basketball team competing in the CBL, but left the team before the season to pursue DistinXion Basketball Camps. Bryce is also a Level 2 Certified Trainer (GM) with Ganon Baker Basketball. Bryce & his wife, Tabitha, reside in Bloomington.
J.C. Hulls | Basketball Trainer
J.C. was born in Orrville, OH and has been surrounded by basketball since childhood. His father was an assistant coach with Bob Knight both at Army and Indiana University. J.C. began his coaching career at the junior high level in Bloomington, IN at the ripe age of 21. J.C. graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Business Mgmt. and Organization. He was a varsity assistant at Bloomington South High School for a couple of years and has been a long time AAU coach for the past 20 years. J.C. and his wife, Joni, have 4 children and their 2 youngest have basketball playing careers at IU.
Steve Dayton | Xplode Trainer
Steve grew up in Washington, IN before heading to Indiana University for undergrad and University of Evansville for a master’s. Steve acquired athletic experience as a student athletic trainer for both the Hoosier and Purple Aces men’s basketball teams. He currently works with Office Connection, and is an Xplode trainer for DXN. Steve is an ATS certified athletic trainer and is trained in Functional Movement Screen (FMS) testing. FMS testing is the system used by the NBA to document an athlete’s movement patterns that are key to athletic function. Steve and his wife, Virginia, have 6 children.
Jeremy Clark | Media Design Director/DistinXion Chaplain
Jeremy grew up in Washington, IN and has been working for non-profits for over 10 years. Jeremy has spent time working with young people in many areas; with a focus on leadership training. He has a passion for using media to reach people for a greater cause. Jeremy has also been in full time ministry for 8 years and has served as a missionary and youth pastor. Jeremy volunteered with DistinXion for two years before coming on staff. He will be marrying the love of his life this summer and is excited about his personal future.
Chris Hueni | Lead Intern
Chris grew up in the small town of Bremen, IN. Throughout his childhood and his years at Bremen HS, he played football, basketball and baseball. While attending Indiana University, Chris was President of the Christian Student Fellowship and was also an intern with IU Sport Properties. He graduated from IU in 2012 with a degree in Sport Marketing and Management. Before joining the DistinXion team in the fall of 2012, Chris worked for Ryan-Sanders Baseball and the Corpus Christi Hooks Baseball Club in Texas. Chris has also spent time working as a kamp counselor at Kanakuk Kamps in Missouri.
