At DistinXion, we want to empower others physically and relationally. In order to make this happen, it is essential that we have an incredibly passionate and dedicated staff. Thankfully, we have been blessed with an amazing team that pours its talents back into others. We’d like you to meet our team.
Luke Zeller| President
Luke, the oldest Zeller boy, grew up in Washington, Indiana. At Washington High School, Luke graduated as valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA, won the Mr. Basketball award, was named to the McDonald’s All-American Team, and was awarded the Trester Mental Attitude Award after hitting a half-court shot to lead the Hatchets to a state championship. Luke played college ball at the University of Notre Dame graduating with a degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. His professional basketball career with the Phoenix Suns took him to Japan, Lithuania, California, Texas, and Arizona. Luke founded DistinXion in 2010 and has served as the President since. He is also a certified Gallup Strengths Coach. Luke married Hope in 2010 and they have an adorable son, Kyston.
Steve Zeller | Vice President of Basketball
Steve grew up on a farm in Iowa and was the youngest of 12 children. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Since then, he has worked in the meat industry for Oscar Mayer, Louis Rich, Simmons Poultry and Perdue Farms. With moving so frequently, the Zellers raised their boys all over the country. Luke was born in Iowa, Tyler in California, Cody in Minnesota and when they moved to Indiana in 1993, Lorri, his lovely wife, suggested the add a dog to the family. They have been actively involved in the Indiana community ever since.
Hope Zeller | Vice President of Marketing / Director of Cheerleading
Hope began her cheerleading career in 7th grade and hasn’t stopped since. After cheering at Mishawaka High School, she joined the Bethel College cheerleading squad. Hope graduated from Bethel with a 3.9 GPA and a degree in Liberal Studies and Early Childhood Education, with concentrations in Business, Youth Ministry, and Sociology. Her work experience includes: Director of Advertising & Promotions at her high school, Customer Logistics at Bayer Healthcare, and currently serves as the Director of Cheerleading and Vice President of Marketing at DistinXion. Hope met her husband, Luke, while in college and they were married in 2010. In 2013, they welcomed their adorable son, Kyston, into the world.
Lorri Zeller | Vice President of Administration
Lorri grew up on a farm in the small town of Springville, Iowa, where she met her husband and “high school sweetheart,” Steve. Lorri attended Coe College, where she graduated cum laude with a major in Business Administration and Physical Education. She also played on the women’s basketball and softball teams and has recently been nominated for their Hall of Fame. Ever since Steve and Lorri got married, she has been a dedicated sports mom through raising their three boys, Luke, Tyler, and Cody. Lorri is selfless in her service with DistinXion and is the glue that holds us all together!
Nathan Cobine | Director of Marketing
Nathan is from the small town of Solsberry, Indiana where he first started loving God and the game of basketball. Solsberry instilled in him his appreciation for family, friends and the small things in life that truly make us happy. He graduated from Eastern Greene High School in 2012 after advancing to the Elite 8 two consecutive years in basketball and helping his team to accumulate the best single season record in Eastern Greene basketball history. He decided to end his basketball career upon high school and pursue an education from Indiana University. During his years at Indiana University, he was fortunate to remain in basketball, but as a coach, where he coached middle school student athletes and interned and served as a basketball coach for DistinXion in 2014. Nathan now holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and in Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation from the Kelley School of Business. He is also the 8th grade boys basketball coach at Eastern Greene Middle School, and works full-time as the Director of Marketing for DistinXion as of May 2016.
Abe Schwartz | Director of Basketball Services
Abe Schwartz grew up on a farm in the small town of English, Indiana, where he learned the importance of family. He graduated first in his class at Perry Central High School in 2013, as the only athlete in Commodore history to win three sectionals in three different sports in the same year. Abe then went on to study at Indiana University, and in 2016 he received a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology and a 3.6 GPA. While at IU, Abe was a manager under Coach Tom Crean for the men’s basketball program, helping the team become Big Ten Champs outright and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2016. Abe took the position of Basketball Development Coach at DistinXion in May of 2016, as his love for God, basketball, and family made it the perfect place to start his career.
Trent Pennington | Manager of Operations
Trent grew up in Salem, IN, and is expected to graduate from Indiana University Bloomington in the spring of 2017. He is studying Law and Public Policy with a minor in Sports Marketing and Management. Trent was a three-sport athlete in high school playing baseball, basketball, and football. He was an academic all-state football player and 4-year baseball letterman. Trent has a deep passion for baseball, and organized DistinXion’s first ever baseball camp in 2016. He is an active member of the Indiana University Student Foundation, and serves on the organization’s Steering Committee. Trent enjoys making a lasting impact on the lives of young athletes through sport, as well as training DistinXion interns within the organization
Jenna Hudson | Manager of Missions
Jenna Hudson is from Greenwood, Indiana. She graduated from Center Grove High School in 2013. Now Jenna attends Indiana University where she is studying Nonprofit Management and minoring in Religious Studies. For the past three years, Jenna has been a leader with Cru, a student-lead ministry on IU’s campus. She started working with DistinXion in the summer of 2016 as the Missions Manager. Jenna loves working at DistinXion and the impact that this organization has on campers’ lives.
